The following is a very common conversation:
Parent to child: “Why did you do that?”
Child: “I don’t know.”
After children get older, say around 12 and older, it’s common for the reply to be “because somebody else....”.
Wouldn’t it be refreshing to hear “it’s my fault”? That’s why we say three times that our sin is our own fault! We even say that our fault is grievous —extremely sad.
